Nick is back for the three day weekend from working contract in Cleveland.
I brought my spear gun and hoped to go off The Point, however Nick hurt his ankle, so we went out of the cove.
Nick hurts his ankle quite a bit, and probably for the only reason that he’s so tall.
I think my spare air broke – I can’t seem to fill it.
I filled it, couldn’t get the canister off my tank and think I broke a seal or something when I removed it.
I heard a big, bang! and hiss!
All the air leaked out.
There’s no fish off the cove; all the spear fishermen go off the Point.
The waves were so flat, this would have been the perfect time!
We entered the water and swam out; we submerged at ten minutes to 10 AM.
Visibility was ten feet.
We toured our traditional route off of Pigeon Shit Cave; Nick followed behind me and my spear gun.
We came across the abandoned lobster trap that I have mentioned in previous dives.
The water was cold in some spots.
We surfaced East and rode a current back to our exit spot fairly quickly.
Dennis and Al were in the parking lot; so were Reyna and a Pacific Wilderness diving instructor – I don’t know his name, but I have seen him around many times.
I didn’t see any fish worth shooting!
I will definitely try The Point the next time, if it’s doable.
We exited with no problems as it was extremely flat.
