Oh man, I sort of had a really bad hangover.
I got to the water around 11:30 AM.
It was flat as a lake.
Dennis and Al were in the process of leaving.
This was my first dive with my spare air; it’s sort of cumbersome.
I decided I needed a redundant air source after springing a leak on my last solo dive.
I really like breathing and 100 feet is a long way up if you can’t.
I entered off the Point; it was low tide and very slippery.
My plan was to swim to the Cove and exit.
I saw two octopi, lots of fish, some trash, another solo diver and a rotting lobster trap.
I started heading towards the cove and eventually surfaced to get my bearings.
I discovered that I wasn’t moving very much due to a very strong current.
I decided to burn to 800 psi and go in on The Point.
I started going West and overshot the exit a little.
I rode a wave in to the same entry point and crawled up a few slippery rocks.
I learned shortly later that at 11:37 AM Pacific Time Pope John Paul II died at the Vatican.
I was still hung-over; I went home and slept the entire day.
By the way, the movie props for the movie “Dick and Jane” have been removed.
From what I hear, Donald Trump has purchased the property, too.
They’re suppose to allow beach access, but apparently during construction, we won’t have access.
