Jocko Robinson On American Pickers
Thank you Reverend Al, for sending me this link and for Max Bottomtime for posting it.
Anybody who knows the diving and surfing scene in the South Bay area knows Dive N Surf and Jocko.
Jocko is one of the few people who I trust to service my diving equipment, and the ass chewing that he has always given me for the condition that my regulator finally makes it to him in, is priceless.
Jocko was recently on the show “American Pickers” to hopefully sell some of his treasures to benefit his disabled son, Travis.
Further information on Travis can be found at http://helptravis.org/ .

Awesome story! The data on the linked website is a little old and I am curious about Travis’s condition today? Has he tried any therapeutic diving? The stories about the benefits for spine injury patients have been blooming all around, just curious if he had tried any and what results he may have experienced. Great post! Thanks.

Hi Dave, the last I heard about Travis was from Dive Bum Don – “Travis is doing better, but he has a long way to go.”

An awesome episode that shed some light on diving equipment and its value. There were a lot of great things and this guy Jocko had a lot of stuff. I like the fact that everything he sold was to help his son’s therapy. I continue to watch all the American Pickers I can using my Sling adapter. It’s connected to my employee service from DISH and made my iPad a portable TV. I can now enjoy my favorite shows or movies right off the DVR, as well as watch live TV. I have enjoyed this feature and its let me enjoy more TV than I was able too. This is a way to have flexibility and the most from my subscription.

I just watched, July 15, 2013, that episode of American Pickers. Also a website in the same search result saying Travis Robinson had had an operation in Portugal in 2007. Presume the results were not positive?

Honestly Jack, I don’t know. However, I have not heard any good news.
