Logged Dive #165 – Solo Diving At Marineland

Long Point, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA
    (aka The Old Marineland)

    Solo Diving

    In With: 3000 psi
    Out With: 1000 psi
    Max depth: 45 feet
    Waves: 1-3 feet
    Visibility: 10-15 feet
    Water Temperature: cool, getting cold.
    Total Bottom Time: 45 minutes

I was too busy cleaning my condo to do my “Thanksgiving Day” dive.

I had a hang over from last night, so I go a late start.

The Point looked undivable with huge waves; the cove looked manageable with only a few big waves!

I submerged around 11 AM and went North East.

There was a lot of scenery that I never have seen before; lots of fish, too.

At least more fish than in some previous dives.

The current seemed to be going South.

The only people in the water besides me were two female SCUBA divers and three snorkelers; Long Point was pretty deserted.

When I came ashore I had to deal with several annoying waves.

I’ve learned to stand in to the waves; I’m glad I handled them well!
