Long Point, CA
(aka The Old Marineland)
Solo Diving
Ed is still messing around with his bar.
I woke up around 7 AM and said, “Damn, I need to go diving.”
I got down to Long Point at 8 AM; other divers were there.
I went out on the rocks about 8:30 AM.
The water was cool and visibility really sucked — about 8 feet.
Nice dive that lasted about an hour.
In with: 3200 psi.
Out with: 800 psi
Waves: 3 feet
Max depth: 40 feet.
Coldest Temperature: 50 degrees ????

Redondo Beach, CA
Solo Diving.
Ed is still working on getting his bar “working.”
I haven’t been diving in all of September, so I went alone off of Redondo Beach.
Ed was on shore and met my brother Paul, who’s back from Korea for a week.
The waves were one foot at best.
Easy in, but the visibility was only 10 to 15 feet.
I went about 70 feet down.
It was cold and dark; every shadow looked like a shark, but that was my mind playing tricks.
I saw more small fish and spider crabs than ever before.
I was under water for 35 minutes, mostly at 35 feet.
I practiced hovering and just swam for exercise.
I came back out walking ashore.
Great exercise, but it gets lonely diving by myself.
In with: 2800 psi.
Out with: 800 psi.
Waves: 1 ft.
Max depth: 70 ft.
Coldest Water temp: Probably 50 degrees.
