Logged Dive #39 Long Point, CA

    Long Point, CA
    (aka The Old Marineland)

    Dove with Nick

I met Nick at 10:15 AM. He brought his camera; I had my spear.

We headed straight for the cove and went in.

It was low tide — so low that the ocean came up to the sand beneath the rocks.

We went to the same kelp bed as yesterday.

    A purple nudibrach.

Shooting a sheephead in a preemptive strike.

I shot three legal sized sheephead.

It was basically a great dive.

We were underwater about 50 minutes.

We lost each other towards the end, but we surfaced after a few minutes of being alone.

Logged Dive #38 Long Point, CA

    Long Point, CA
    (aka The Old Marineland)

I met Nick at noon, thinking it was high tide.

    It was actually low tide.

We geared up and checked The Point.

It was too rough — the waves crashed against the rocks.

We walked back to the cove.

Daniel M. from Redondo pier walked down to try and find us.

We went to the far kelp bed.

I had my camera, Nick was a spectator.

    Sheephead at Long Point

There was one reef that had two big sheephead.

    Nick annoys sea life.

Nick practiced navigation and annoying sea life.

We surfaced 45 minutes after going down in the exact same spot.

It was a nice dive; Nick was impressed with the scenery.

    We’re going back tomorrow.
