Logged Dive #157 – Solo Diving At Long Point

Long Point, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA
    (aka The Old Marineland)

    Solo Diving

    In With: 3000 psi
    Out With: 200 psi
    Max depth: 70 feet
    Waves: 1-3 feet
    Visibility: 15-20 feet
    Water Temperature: Cool
    Total Bottom Time: 55 minutes

I haven’t heard from Nick; he’s suppose to be back in town this weekend.

Oh well, I can go off “The Point” on this dive.

The waves were fairly calm and flat.

I took my game bag to look for lobsters.

I went off The Point with no problem; two other divers entered five minutes behind me.

I proceeded North, it looked like the current was going South.

Lots of fish this dive, schools of Mackerel, lots of Sheephead.

    Very abundant sea life!

I saw a lobster within the first five minutes, but it took off once I approached.

I spent the next 20 minutes looking for lobsters.

I surfaced at 1000 psi and noticed that I was half way to the cove.

I headed towards the cove, but it seemed as though the current changed midway because I had a hell of a time getting in.
