Logged Dive #97 Veteran’s Park, Redondo Beach, CA

    Veteran’s Park, Redondo Beach, CA

    Dove with Nick

    In With: 2900 psi
    Out With: 1000 psi
    Max depth: 65 feet
    Waves: 1-2 feet
    Visibility: 15 feet
Water Temperature: 55 degrees at 60 feet
    Total Bottom Time: 35 minutes

Nick picked me up around 7:30 AM and we headed for Leo Carrillo.

    The waves looked relatively calm.

We checked out Sequin Point at Leo Carrillo; the waves looked sort of rough.

We went down to our traditional spot at Leo Carrillo and again, waves.

There were plenty of surfers, but no divers.

We left and headed back South to find a better spot.

We checked a few spots heading South on PCH.

We ended up at Veteran’s Park in Redondo Beach.

Reports were that visibility was great; students were there as usual.

I broke a fin strap going in; Nick fixed it with a tie wrap.

Then, walking down a second time, Nick’s tank fell off; I adjusted mine.

We didn’t make it to the water until about 11 AM.

We went in and submerged to 60 feet; saw the octopus amongst the trash and small fish.

We followed it North and then back.

We were dived bombed a few times by a seal.

This was a typical Redondo day dive.
