Logged Dive #44 Veteran’s Park, RB, CA

    Veteran’s Park
    Redondo Beach, CA

Dove with Daniel M From Redondo Pier

I met Daniel M at Long Point.

It was low tide and the waves were sweeping into the rocks; not fun and probably dangerous.

We drove to Redondo Beach where it was much calmer.

Daniel told me that he packed his gear really quickly.

I said, “that’s too bad, people usually forget stuff doing that.”

Sure enough, he forgot his regulator.

Luckily, I had mine and Ed’s with me.

I lent him Ed’s because it’s the better rig.

We entered the water about 8:40 AM and swam to where it is 30 feet; we descended.

I followed him, slow and side by side — quite a change from diving with Ed and Nick.

At 70 feet, he signaled to go back to 50 feet.

We did, which is at the shelf.

We swam North, where we saw a dollar bill lying on the ocean floor.

I kept it because Daniel owed me $2.

At 1400 psi, we started heading back South-East.

At 15 feet, I started floating up.

I signaled that I was going up; he signaled that he was going to keep going.

I swam in, took my fins off in the water and walked to shore.

    Daniel was right behind me.

The showers were off at the beach, but I was prepared with water because we were planning for Long Point.

This is the first time I dove with Daniel; we had no problems in the water.

    In with: 2800 psi
    Out with: 1000 psi
    Max depth: 70 feet
    Waves: 2 feet
Visibility: 20 feet/ clear. Good for Redondo Beach
    Water temperature: cool
    Under water approximately 35 minutes
