The Wrath Of El Niño Continues

Reports have been that the conditions still suck pretty much everywhere.

Veteran’s Park apparently was diveable, but the visibility was said to be about five to 10 feet.

Sunday services were doomed to be dry – well, as far as diving went.

I was suppose to meet up with Military Bob to exchange Budweiser for the navigation spool that I won at the Divevets Christmas party – too bad I couldn’t find it.

    We walked to the Cove…

    Waves pound the Cove.

The Cove was pretty foamy with some good waves crashing on shore.

Looks like there may even be some red tide in the mix.

The Point put on a spectacular show.

The Point was being hit with some pretty big waves.

The group walked up towards the Catalina Room…

Some of us, including me, haven’t been in the water at all this year.

We proceeded to hold Not So New Chris’ going away party – too bad he’s already gone.

    1. Getting wet while still being dry. Only DiveVetters could achieve such a feat. And what a bunch of wusses. That looked totally diveable. My homies Achmed and Abdul said they’d totally have dove that–if they had SCUBA gear or knew what SCUBA was.

    2. Hey Psycho, I noticed you have not been doing much bug diving this season, I know the conditions have been poor, but sometimes you just have to go, get pounded and take your lumps to get a few bugs. We dived Laguna last night in 3-5′ surf, not many bugs in the shallows but we got a couple legals. Hope conditions turn and you guys get out to finish the season.
