Night Diving, Solo Diving – So Cal Buddy Diving with John off of his zodiac

    In With: 2500 psi
    Out With: 500 psi
    Max depth: 40 feet
    Waves: Minor chop
    Visibility: 15-20 feet
    Water Temperature: Cool
    Total Bottom Time: 30 minutes

The ocean was relatively flat, so we tried a new spot that I never have dived before.

John and I were in the water around 7:30 PM; we each went our separate ways.

I was a little freaked out as I’m unfamiliar with this area.

There are piles of rocks and stretches of sand; I almost ran into the rocks a few times.

I saw plenty of lobsters, but mostly shorts.

Two lobsters the size of small dogs were hiding under a rock out of reach.

I grabbed for a few good sized lobsters, but they got away – they seem to be pretty smart here.

I ended up catching three, but two were shorts.

Short dive for a short fill.

John came back about five minutes after I had crawled on to the boat.

    Totals for tonight:

    Me – one
John – two good sized ones

Lobster Hunt Canceled Due To Conditions

Met John at Vet’s Park on our way to the Zodiac.

We cancelled the dive due to wind and chop.
