We thought the bugs would be shallower than where we had been.<\/p>\n
Captain Alec moved the boat to a spot closer to shore.<\/p>\n
I was the first one over board; I submerged to 35 feet and headed towards shore.<\/p>\n
I caught three shorts heading to 15 feet.<\/p>\n
It got pretty silty and surgy, so I headed back towards the boat.<\/p>\n
I had a big problem with getting stuck in the kelp and almost had my regulator ripped out of my mouth after getting caught.<\/p>\n
I brought one lobster to the surface, but it was a tad short and I threw it back.<\/p>\n
I searched and search; I came across a fairly large lobster, but missed grabbing it.<\/p>\n
Getting low on air, I surfaced.<\/p>\n
I had to bitch crawl over mounds of kelp while making my way back to the boat.<\/p>\n
I caught one lobster for the night, Bob and Dan I think each limited.<\/p>\n
The rest of the divers caught two, three and four.<\/p>\n
Captain Alec pointed out that my light was not very bright; I need to get fresh batteries.<\/p>\n
We debriefed on the way back and in the parking lot of King’s Harbor.<\/p>\n
Next to the Island Diver is a huge boat where the rich owner put a surveillance system up to watch us drink beer.<\/p>\n
The guy must be bored to watch us.<\/p>\n
I told Dan and Bob my story of how I got the nickname “Psycho Solo Diver.”<\/p>\n
It bored Dan so much that he left.<\/p>\n
Bob gave me a lesson on how to de-ass the lobster tails.<\/p>\n
As Dan put it, “Bob is the ass expert.”<\/p>\n
