{"id":644,"date":"2007-07-14T16:49:45","date_gmt":"2007-07-14T23:49:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=644"},"modified":"2008-02-06T03:50:55","modified_gmt":"2008-02-06T10:50:55","slug":"logged-dive-241-south-of-malaga-cove-off-johns-zodiac","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=644","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #241 &#8211; South Of Malaga Cove Off John&#8217;s Zodiac"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just South Of Malaga Cove, Off of Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA<\/p>\n<p>Southern California Buddy Diving with John and Ron off of John&#8217;s Zodiac.<\/p>\n<p>In With: 2900 psi<br \/>\nOut With: 1100 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 40 feet<br \/>\nWaves: Minor chop, light surge<br \/>\nVisibility: Five to eight feet, sort of shitty<br \/>\nWater Temperature: Warm of top, 55 degrees F after 25 feet<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: 40 minutes<\/p>\n<p>Since Margate sucked so badly, we decided to try a spot just South of Malaga.<\/p>\n<p>John remarked, &#8220;I haven&#8217;t dove this spot in 20 years.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A six pack dive boat was anchored near by.<\/p>\n<p>I think the visibility was worse in some places here, and I was definitely colder than at Margate.<\/p>\n<p>I swam around over sand, the few scattered rocks and kelp.<\/p>\n<p>At one point I was sort of bored.<\/p>\n<p>I picked up a half of a clam shell, ascended to 15 feet, and dropped the shell.<\/p>\n<p>I followed it down to see where it would land and if it would flip like a coin.<\/p>\n<p>The shell rode the water down and landed in the sand.<\/p>\n<p>OK, yeah I was bored, and visibility sucked.<\/p>\n<p>I looked for scallops when I came across a reef.<\/p>\n<p>I was the last one back on the boat.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/58670001qqw.jpg\" alt=\"Ron off of Malaga Cove.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ron and I drank some post-dive Italian beer, which cured my alcohol-induced sickness from last night.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Just South Of Malaga Cove, Off of Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA Southern California Buddy Diving with John and Ron off of John&#8217;s Zodiac.
