And Dive Number 200!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Long Point, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA<br \/>\n(aka the Old Marineland)<\/p>\n<p>Dove With Nick<\/p>\n<p>In With: 3100 psi<br \/>\nOut With: 1100 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 45 feet, maybe 50<br \/>\nWaves:  0 &#8211; flat!<br \/>\nVisibility: 15-20 feet<br \/>\nWater Temperature: Cool<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: 50 minutes<br \/>\nNotable Event: This is my 200th logged SCUBA Dive!<\/p>\n<p>Long Point was as flat as a lake; so flat, we went off the point.<\/p>\n<p>While Nick and I entered over the rocks and swam through the kept, three divers did a giant stride off of one of the big boulders on the Point.<\/p>\n<p>They said that it&#8217;s how they get back in, too.  <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Just let a wave push you back up,&#8221; they said.<\/p>\n<p>We toured around the point, saw a school of sandiness, fish, played with a small octopus.<\/p>\n<p>Reverend Al and his group ran across us;  he gave me a yank on my fin.  <\/p>\n<p>Al later said to Nick, &#8220;You look just as tall underwater as on top.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Nick replied, &#8220;Things also look bigger underwater.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>We toured back to the cove at a depth averaging 15 to 20 feet. <\/p>\n<p>We came ashore at the cove without incident.<\/p>\n<p>The gates to Old Marineland were open; we went in and looked around.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/p1010156.jpg\" alt=\"What is left of Baja Reef Marineland.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>What is left of &#8220;Baja Reef&#8221; at Old Marineland.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/p1010158.jpg\" alt=\"This is where the International Cafe stood when Marineland was open.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m standing where the &#8220;International Cafe&#8221; was.<\/p>\n<p>Just behind it stood the games and picnic area.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/p1010173.jpg\" alt=\"This was the Dimetoss and Hoopla at Marineland.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This was the Dimetoss and Hoopla at Marineland.<\/p>\n<p>Wow! <\/p>\n<p>What memories!<\/p>\n<p>I used to work here when I was 16.<\/p>\n<p>The games were in between the International Cafe and the picnic grounds.<\/p>\n<p>I took many a drunken man&#8217;s money at those games.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/p1010182.jpg\" alt=\"The view from the cliffs at the Old Marineland.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Pt.
