{"id":554,"date":"2006-07-08T19:41:23","date_gmt":"2006-07-09T02:41:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=554"},"modified":"2008-01-28T18:10:13","modified_gmt":"2008-01-29T01:10:13","slug":"logged-dive-193-another-long-point-solo-dive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=554","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #193  &#8211; Another Long Point Solo Dive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Long Point, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA<br \/>\n(aka The Old Marineland)<\/p>\n<p>Solo Diving<\/p>\n<p>In With: 2800 psi<br \/>\nOut With: 1200 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 35 feet<br \/>\nWaves:  1-2 feet, easy entry and exit<br \/>\nVisibility: 10-15 feet<br \/>\nWater Temperature: Cool<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: About 40 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Ed came along with me to go free diving.<\/p>\n<p>The group Three-R&#8217;s were there at Long Point, just like last Summer.  <\/p>\n<p>Three-R&#8217;s is &#8220;Reefs, Rocks and Rip-Tides;&#8221;  they give classes in marine life identification and safe rock entry.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the class apparently was there just  to free dive or snorkel.<\/p>\n<p>I got into the water around 9 AM or so &#8211; I still don&#8217;t have a replacement watch.<\/p>\n<p>I submerged and went West towards the old pier pilings.<\/p>\n<p>I guess I sort of got off course because I was shallower than I should have been.  <\/p>\n<p>I never ran across any of the pilings, but did swim across a Shovel Nosed Guitar fish that sort of startled me.<\/p>\n<p>I headed to deeper waters and turned East to hopefully get to the &#8220;120 Reef.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I was getting bored a little bit, so I headed in.<\/p>\n<p>Reverend Al and some other Divevets were there.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Long Point, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA (aka The Old Marineland) Solo Diving In With: 2800 psi Out With: 1200 psi Max depth: 35 feet Waves: 1-2 feet, easy entry and exit Visibility: 10-15 feet Water Temperature: Cool Total Bottom Time: About 40 minutes.
