{"id":542,"date":"2006-05-21T22:17:03","date_gmt":"2006-05-22T05:17:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=542"},"modified":"2008-01-27T10:43:58","modified_gmt":"2008-01-27T17:43:58","slug":"logged-dive-181-more-dmiting-another-class-at-vets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=542","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #181 &#8211; More DMITing &#8211; Another Class At Vet&#8217;s"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran&#8217;s Park, Redondo Beach, CA<\/p>\n<p>Dove with Instructor John, his friend Jim, and John&#8217;s Open Water students<strong>* <\/strong>Tom and Jerry as part of my Dive Master course.<\/p>\n<p>In With: 3000 psi<br \/>\nOut With: 1900 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 60 feet<br \/>\nWaves:  1-2 feet<br \/>\nVisibility: 5-10 feet<br \/>\nWater Temperature: 61 degrees to 57 degrees Fahrenheit at depth<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: 30 minutes<br \/>\n<strong>*Student names have been changed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These two students were several years older than me &#8211; at least I hope so because they looked old!<\/p>\n<p>They had already been to Catalina, so this was their second set of dives.<\/p>\n<p>The waves were so calm, I walked out and put my fins on.<\/p>\n<p>John asked me if I thought one of his students was wearing a hood that was too tight;  he was looking a bit cyanotic &#8211; purple.<\/p>\n<p>I submerged; the rest followed with no problem.<\/p>\n<p>John did the basic checkout skills with Tom and Jerry while Jim and I watched.<\/p>\n<p>We then followed John down the shelf and back up and out with no problems.  <\/p>\n<p>I did lose sight of one of his students because of bad visibility towards shore, but he surfaced safely about 15 yards away from us as we were coming ashore.<\/p>\n<p>The student that had a tight hood took it off &#8211; the color came back to his face.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran&#8217;s Park, Redondo Beach, CA Dove with Instructor John, his friend Jim, and John&#8217;s Open Water students* Tom and Jerry as part of my Dive Master course.
