{"id":540,"date":"2006-04-30T22:12:13","date_gmt":"2006-05-01T05:12:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=540"},"modified":"2008-01-27T09:10:56","modified_gmt":"2008-01-27T16:10:56","slug":"logged-dive-179-dmiting-an-ow-class-at-veterans-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=540","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #179 &#8211; DMITing An OW Class At Veteran&#8217;s Park"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran&#8217;s Park, Redondo Beach, CA<\/p>\n<p>Dove with Instructor John and his students Jack and General Custer<strong>*<\/strong> as part of my Dive Master Class.<\/p>\n<p>In With: 3100 psi<br \/>\nOut With: 2000 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 50 feet<br \/>\nWaves:  1-3 feet, ankle breakers<br \/>\nVisibility: 5-8 feet<br \/>\nWater Temperature: 58 degrees Fahrenheit &#8211; I think<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: 31 minutes<br \/>\n<strong>*Student names have been changed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The same student that stiffed us last Catalina trip also stiffed us again on this day;  at least we didn&#8217;t have to do a skin dive.<\/p>\n<p>We entered the water with no problem, swam out and submerged.  <\/p>\n<p>Jack took a while getting down.<\/p>\n<p>The majority of the dive was Jack and General Custer demonstrating their basic skills &#8211; regulator ditch and recovery, mask clearing, weight belt replacement, emergency swimming ascent, etc.<\/p>\n<p>John then took us to the edge of the shelf and down to 50 feet.<\/p>\n<p>General Custer signaled to me that he was at 1000 psi; I motioned to John and we headed in.<\/p>\n<p>We made it ashore with no problems.  <\/p>\n<p>Jack had fun washing around in the surf zone.<\/p>\n<p>My Momentum dive watch sprung a leak;  it is now flooded and not working.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran&#8217;s Park, Redondo Beach, CA Dove with Instructor John and his students Jack and General Custer* as part of my Dive Master Class.
