{"id":518,"date":"2006-02-04T21:03:32","date_gmt":"2006-02-05T04:03:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=518"},"modified":"2008-01-26T20:08:32","modified_gmt":"2008-01-27T03:08:32","slug":"logged-dive-171-safety-diver-for-an-ow-class-on-avalon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=518","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #171 &#8211; Safety Diver For An OW Class On Avalon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Casino Point, Catalina, CA<\/p>\n<p>Dove with Instructor John and his ex-private OW student (see dives <a href=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/index.php?p=422\"> #126 <\/a>  and < a href=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/index.php?p=423\"> #127 <\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>In With: 3100 psi<br \/>\nOut With: 1800 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 65 feet<br \/>\nWaves:  Insignificant<br \/>\nVisibility: 20 feet plus<br \/>\nWater Temperature: 57 degrees Fahrenheit, but seemed colder<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: About 30 minutes<\/p>\n<p>The mother and daughter finished the class on the last dive and opted out of this one.  <\/p>\n<p>John wouldn&#8217;t let General Custer dive this one because of his nasal and ear problems going down.  <\/p>\n<p>Dr. Smith sat this one out.<\/p>\n<p>So, John&#8217;s ex-private OW student and I spent about 30 minutes following John around the underwater park.<\/p>\n<p>We made it down to another wreck &#8211; a small boat on its side, then to another barge &#8211; or maybe it was THE barge?  <\/p>\n<p>Well, one is a barge; the other one was a glass bottom boat.<\/p>\n<p>We ran across a plaque that pointing out a &#8220;Replica of a Spanish Galleon Wreck.&#8221;  <\/p>\n<p>But there was no wreck?<\/p>\n<p>We made it to shore and up the stairs with no problem.<\/p>\n<p>While dressing, I noticed I received a page from my job that one of my servers had gone down.  <\/p>\n<p>I called them back and was told that the Halon had dropped and everything was down.<\/p>\n<p>One of the Computer Operators told me, &#8220;You need to come to work right now.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Uh, I&#8217;m on Catalina right now,&#8221; I said.<\/p>\n<p>We took an early boat back; the fact that I had to go to work made me pass up on all the drinks that Dr. Smith was offering to buy.  <\/p>\n<p>Drat!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Casino Point, Catalina, CA Dove with Instructor John and his ex-private OW student (see dives #126 and < a href=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/index.php?p=423\"> #127 ).
