{"id":499,"date":"2005-12-17T17:28:24","date_gmt":"2005-12-18T00:28:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=499"},"modified":"2008-01-26T19:40:58","modified_gmt":"2008-01-27T02:40:58","slug":"logged-dive-167-solo-diving-at-veterans-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=499","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #167 &#8211; Solo Diving At Veteran&#8217;s Park"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran&#8217;s Park, Redondo Beach, CA<\/p>\n<p>Solo Diving<\/p>\n<p>In With: 3000 psi<br \/>\nOut With: 900 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 80 feet<br \/>\nWaves:  One foot, no big deal<br \/>\nVisibility: 15 feet, over the shelf 0-5 feet<br \/>\nWater Temperature: Cold<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: 40 minutes<\/p>\n<p>I wanted a nice and relaxing deep dive.<\/p>\n<p>Students were all over the place, as usual.<\/p>\n<p>The water was 15 feet and crystal clear, until I got over the shelf.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a bunch of bricks at 70 feet arranged in a circle with an empty SCUBA tank in the middle.  <\/p>\n<p>Someone had strung a line from here, so I followed it.<\/p>\n<p>Vis really started to suck, so I turned back at 80 feet.<\/p>\n<p>Crabs, sand dollars were all around, but still, OK, it is still a pretty barren environment, but at least the vis was good above the shelf.<\/p>\n<p>It was so calm, I swam all the way to shore and had to turn back in three feet of water to take my fins off!<\/p>\n<p>When I got back to the parking lot, there was an event by the local Divevets group. <\/p>\n<p>It was a toy drive and &#8220;decorate the underwater Christmas tree&#8221; dive.<\/p>\n<p>Dennis and Al were present, so were Sean and Julia from Pacific Wilderness.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran&#8217;s Park, Redondo Beach, CA Solo Diving In With: 3000 psi Out With: 900 psi Max depth: 80 feet Waves: One foot, no big deal Visibility: 15 feet, over the shelf 0-5 feet Water Temperature: Cold Total Bottom Time: 40 minutes I wanted a nice and relaxing deep dive.
