{"id":498,"date":"2005-12-11T17:26:05","date_gmt":"2005-12-12T00:26:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=498"},"modified":"2008-01-26T19:37:44","modified_gmt":"2008-01-27T02:37:44","slug":"logged-dive-166-redondo-beach-with-ed-and-nick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=498","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #166 &#8211; Redondo Beach With Ed and Nick"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran&#8217;s Park, Redondo Beach, CA<\/p>\n<p>Dove With Nick and Ed<\/p>\n<p>In With: 3500 psi<br \/>\nOut With: 1200 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 70 feet<br \/>\nWaves:  flat, one foot maybe<br \/>\nVisibility: 20-30 feet<br \/>\nWater Temperature: Cold<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: 42 minutes<\/p>\n<p>Nick is back from Cleveland for the weekend, Ed is getting back in to diving after two years off.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m sort of out of shape, so a nice &#8220;refresher&#8221; dive at Redondo Beach is at hand.<\/p>\n<p>Nick seemed a little concerned about this dive &#8211; he&#8217;s still traumatized by <a href=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/index.php?p=155\"> our first night dive here. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ed told us, &#8220;Don&#8217;t follow me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I got a great fill from American Diving &#8211; 3,500 psi (my tank is rated for 3,000 psi) &#8211; and the water was very calm, but cold.<\/p>\n<p>All three of us stuck together until Ed  zoomed down the canyon and back up.<\/p>\n<p>True to our dive plan, Nick and I kept going without Ed.<\/p>\n<p>It was 55 degrees Fahrenheit at 70 feet.<\/p>\n<p>It was a bit silty over the shelf.<\/p>\n<p>Nick messed with the sea life as usual.<\/p>\n<p>Crabs, octopi and the usual variety of spare sea life were present.<\/p>\n<p>We made it ashore with no problems.<\/p>\n<p>Nick wants to go again, but with his camera.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/140.jpg\" alt=\"Nick and Ed;  there\u2019s about a four feet height difference.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Nick and Ed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/229.jpg\" alt=\"Ed and me;  Ed is finally SCUBA diving again after a two year break.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ed and me;  Ed is finally SCUBA diving again after a two year break.<\/p>\n<p>We had our debriefing session at Quality Seafood in Redondo Beach.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/325.jpg\" alt=\"Ed, Founder of Quality Sea Food Pete Dragich and Nick sit for a post dive seafood meal.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ed,  Pete Dragich &#8211; who founded Quality Seafood &#8211; and Nick sit for a post dive seafood meal.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/419.jpg\" alt=\"Pete Dragich, Nick and Me finish up.
