{"id":449,"date":"2005-09-18T20:34:19","date_gmt":"2005-09-19T03:34:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=449"},"modified":"2008-01-25T19:21:51","modified_gmt":"2008-01-26T02:21:51","slug":"logged-dive-147-safety-diver-casino-point-catalina","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=449","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #147 &#8211; Safety Diver, Casino Point, Catalina"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Casino Point, Catalina, CA<\/p>\n<p>Dove with Instructor John and his two advanced students.<\/p>\n<p>In With: 3100 psi<br \/>\nOut With: 900 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 95 feet<br \/>\nWaves:  1 to 2 feet, insignificant<br \/>\nVisibility: 25 feet<br \/>\nWater Temperature: Cool, cold at depth<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: 50 minutes<\/p>\n<p>This was our after lunch deep dive. <\/p>\n<p>The beginning students were excluded from this dive.<\/p>\n<p>We swam to the edge of the park, to the right of the stair case and submerged to 95 feet.<\/p>\n<p>We followed John to the Sujac.  <\/p>\n<p>John started digging around in the crevices at the bottom of the boat &#8211;  for what, I don&#8217;t know.<\/p>\n<p>The advanced students were suppose to take a compass heading before submerging and bring us back to the stairs.<\/p>\n<p>We followed them until it was apparent they had missed the stairs.<\/p>\n<p>John checked everyone&#8217;s air, then lead us to the barge.<\/p>\n<p>John went through the opening in the barge, the students followed and then me.<\/p>\n<p>The student ahead of me got caught on kelp or couldn&#8217;t find the exit; I backed up.  <\/p>\n<p>I found out later he had to cut himself free.<\/p>\n<p>We ended up covering the entire park &#8211; the Sujac to the barge.<\/p>\n<p>We exited with no problems.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Casino Point, Catalina, CA Dove with Instructor John and his two advanced students.
