{"id":432,"date":"2005-07-24T19:16:42","date_gmt":"2005-07-25T02:16:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=432"},"modified":"2008-01-22T19:24:25","modified_gmt":"2008-01-23T02:24:25","slug":"logged-dive-132-safety-diver-for-ow-class","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=432","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #132 &#8211; Safety Diver For OW Class"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran&#8217;s Park, Redondo Beach, CA<\/p>\n<p>I dove as a safety diver with Instructor John&#8217;s Open Water class of five and returning students, Bonnie and Clyde, who were there for &#8220;more experience.&#8221;<strong>*<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In With: 2800 psi<br \/>\nOut With: 2100 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 20 feet<br \/>\nWaves:  1-3 feet<br \/>\nVisibility: 10 feet<br \/>\nWater Temperature: Warm<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: 15 minutes<br \/>\nNotable Event: This was the dive that gave the the idea for my nickname, &#8220;Psycho Solo Diver.&#8221;<br \/>\n<strong>*The names of students have been changed, probably because I don&#8217;t remember them to begin with.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We did the traditional skin dive and what not.<\/p>\n<p>The students:<\/p>\n<p>Pedro &#8211; An older man who is taking diving because he desires to go dredging for Gold.<\/p>\n<p>Lurch &#8211; A huge guy that Bonnie and Clyde seem to know.<\/p>\n<p>Green Horn &#8211; Young guy, skinny and fit.<\/p>\n<p>Leeza &#8211; An older woman who desires to dive, but had a friend drowned in the ocean when she was younger.<\/p>\n<p>Young Hottie &#8211; A young and petite girl who probably weighs 100 pounds and, like all the other students, is required to carry the 60 pounds worth of SCUBA gear.<\/p>\n<p>We did our traditional &#8220;feel the bottom&#8221; dive; the students dawned their weight belts and BCD for the buoyancy check.<\/p>\n<p>As we were floating around outside of the surf zone, Pedro mentioned to me, &#8220;I think I lost my weight belt.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I asked, &#8220;You think?
