{"id":422,"date":"2005-06-25T13:49:57","date_gmt":"2005-06-25T20:49:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=422"},"modified":"2008-01-22T18:25:15","modified_gmt":"2008-01-23T01:25:15","slug":"logged-dive-126-dovw-with-instructor-john-and-a-student","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=422","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #126 &#8211; Dove With Instructor John And A Student"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran&#8217;s Park<br \/>\nRedondo Beach, CA<\/p>\n<p>Dove with Instructor John and his private Open Water student.<\/p>\n<p>In With: 2800 psi<br \/>\nOut With: 1900 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 65 feet<br \/>\nWaves:  1-3 feet<br \/>\nVisibility: 10 feet over the shelf<br \/>\nWater Temperature: Pretty F&#8217;ing cold over the shelf; I think john said it was 55 degrees Fahrenheit<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: 20 minutes<\/p>\n<p>This was the student&#8217;s first time diving in the ocean.  <\/p>\n<p>Apparently, he is a surfer and very comfortable in the water.<\/p>\n<p>We did the usual &#8220;walk out and feel the bottom&#8221; and &#8220;skin dive&#8221; routines before dawning our SCUBA gear.<\/p>\n<p>We submerged about 9:15 AM and went down to 60 feet &#8211; something that John usually doesn&#8217;t do on first dives.  <\/p>\n<p>However, the student was really comfortable in the water and the visibility sucked until we went over the shelf.<\/p>\n<p>Out with no problem.  <\/p>\n<p>The student walked ashore, not crawled;  that&#8217;s very impressive  for a first dive!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran&#8217;s Park Redondo Beach, CA Dove with Instructor John and his private Open Water student.
