Quite a difference in height!\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We got in the water about 11:30 AM.<\/p>\n<p>Initially it was Ed and I.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of them &#8212; Instructor Mike, Nick and a 12 year old and his father &#8212; went snorkeling at first.<\/p>\n<p>From the top, the underwater park looks very small, but the edge, marked by buoys goes down to 100 feet.<\/p>\n<p>Ed and I went down to 40 feet ininitially.<\/p>\n<p>The visibility was excellent &#8212; 50 feet or more.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/dev\/wp-content\/49.jpg\" alt=\"Ed underwater.\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/dev\/wp-content\/59.jpg\" alt=\"Me underwater.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Kelp, big fish were everywhere.<\/p>\n<p>This is a game preserve so no hunting!<\/p>\n<p>I saw a 20 pound sheephead that was making me hungry.<\/p>\n<p>We continued to go down to 75 feet and accidentally went past the boundary of the park.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/dev\/wp-content\/68.jpg\" alt=\"Ed surfaces off of Casino Point.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ed surfaced; me right behind him.<\/p>\n<p>Ed complained that he couldn&#8217;t equalize at depth.<\/p>\n<p>I got a little dizzy coming up, but I stopped and regained my equilibrium.<\/p>\n<p>We swam back to the stairs; Ed went on shore.<\/p>\n<p>I tried looking for Nick since I had my camera.<\/p>\n<p>I had 1000 psi left and couldn&#8217;t find him; I decided to go back in.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/dev\/wp-content\/78.jpg\" alt=\"Nick enters the water with his instructor.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>While on my way in, Nick was coming out with his instructor.<\/p>\n<p>I waited until he was in the water.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/dev\/wp-content\/88.jpg\" alt=\"Nick\u2019s first time underwater.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He submerged and I followed, taking the first pictures of him SCUBA diving for the first time.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/dev\/wp-content\/96.jpg\" alt=\"A wave after noticing the camera.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I had a hard time sinking and followed one of the buoy lines down.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/dev\/wp-content\/102.jpg\" alt=\"Nick waits, and waits, and waits\u2026\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At 500 psi I went back to shore.<\/p>\n<p>I with: 3100 psi<br \/>\nOut With: 500 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 75 feet<br \/>\nVisibility: 50 + feet<br \/>\nWaves: 1 foot<br \/>\nTemperature: Cool<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Underwater Park Casino Point Avalon, Catalina Island, CA Dove (most of the time) With Ed I was invited to come diving in Catalina by Nick&#8217;s instructor.
