{"id":34,"date":"2004-02-07T18:39:09","date_gmt":"2004-02-08T01:39:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/dev\/?p=34"},"modified":"2007-12-29T20:22:56","modified_gmt":"2007-12-30T03:22:56","slug":"logged-dive-25","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=34","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #25 Veteran&#8217;s Park, Redondo Beach, CA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran&#8217;s Park<br \/>\n8 AM<br \/>\nRedondo Beach, CA<\/p>\n<p>Solo Diving<\/p>\n<p>My friend Nick informed me that he was going to take a lesson at Redondo.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0I haven&#8217;t been deep diving in a while, so Redondo Beach was it!<\/p>\n<p>I entered the water about 8:30 AM; there were virtually no waves, a foot at best.<\/p>\n<p>I walked in to the water and put my fins on.<\/p>\n<p>I went down initially to 25 feet and swam West towrds the shelf.<\/p>\n<p>I went down the shelf to 80 feet. It was of course, really cold and dark.<\/p>\n<p>Squid egg sacks were sparse, but were there.<\/p>\n<p>I was at 80 feet for about five minutes.<\/p>\n<p>I started going back up the shelf and paid attention to how many dead crab skeletons littered the bottom.<\/p>\n<p>The floor is pretty barren; but coming back up the shelf, at the top was a huge white starfish, in the middle of nothing.<\/p>\n<p>I swam toward the beach and surfaced when I was at 10 feet.<\/p>\n<p>I took my fins off in the water and walked ashore.<\/p>\n<p>I stayed under about 40 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>In with: 2800 psi<br \/>\nOut With: 500 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 80 feet<br \/>\nWaves: 1 foot<br \/>\nWater Temp: Cool<br \/>\nVisibility: 15 feet<\/p>\n<p>I met Nick when I was done, shortly after I got dressed.<\/p>\n<p>All he did was float on top of the water &#8211; how Boring!<\/p>\n<p>He wants to know what it&#8217;s like to dive.<\/p>\n<p>The water was so calm here, Long Point must be spectacular.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll try Long Point tomorrow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran&#8217;s Park 8 AM Redondo Beach, CA Solo Diving My friend Nick informed me that he was going to take a lesson at Redondo. \u00a0I haven&#8217;t been deep diving in a while, so Redondo Beach was it!
