{"id":310,"date":"2005-03-27T18:09:23","date_gmt":"2005-03-28T01:09:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=310"},"modified":"2008-02-17T00:07:30","modified_gmt":"2008-02-17T07:07:30","slug":"logged-dive-108-lions-head-catalina-ca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=310","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #108, Lion&#8217;s Head, Catalina, CA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Easter Day Diving Off The Bottom Scratcher Boat<\/p>\n<p>Lion&#8217;s Head, Catalina, CA<\/p>\n<p>Solo Diving<\/p>\n<p>In With: 3200 psi<br \/>\nOut With: 500 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 80 feet<br \/>\nWaves:  0<br \/>\nVisibility: 40-50 feet<br \/>\nWater Temperature: Cold at 80 feet<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: 45 minutes<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been sick for a week and the weather has really sucked.<\/p>\n<p>I tried for the April 10th dive, but Pacific Wilderness said that they had plenty of room on today&#8217;s boat.<\/p>\n<p>There were 16 divers on board, mostly students.<\/p>\n<p>The Dive Master was way mellow and cool; he didn&#8217;t give a shit about people solo diving.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/lionshead.jpg\" alt=\"Lion\u2019s Head. At least it\u2019s suppose to look like one!\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Lion&#8217;s Head &#8211; at least it&#8217;s suppose to look like one!<\/p>\n<p>I was the first one in the water.<\/p>\n<p>I ran across Debbie the cook doing a solo dive.<\/p>\n<p>I went down to 80 feet and circled around a bit.<\/p>\n<p>I saw some really big sheephead!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/kelpforest.jpg\" alt=\"A kelp forest.\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/lobster.jpg\" alt=\"A lobster!\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8230;and some lobsters that tormented me;  lobster season is over.<\/p>\n<p>I also recovered a mask and snorkel that two student divers dropped.<\/p>\n<p>Apparently, as I found out later, Captain Greg lost an engine going to the first dive spot.<\/p>\n<p>It was a clogged fuel filter that resulted from a drained fuel tank.<\/p>\n<p>Captain Greg and bobby fixed it without anyone knowing that there was a problem.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Easter Day Diving Off The Bottom Scratcher Boat Lion&#8217;s Head, Catalina, CA Solo Diving In With: 3200 psi Out With: 500 psi Max depth: 80 feet Waves: 0 Visibility: 40-50 feet Water Temperature: Cold at 80 feet Total Bottom Time: 45 minutes I&#8217;ve been sick for a week and the weather has really sucked.
