{"id":308,"date":"2005-02-26T18:53:06","date_gmt":"2005-02-27T01:53:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=308"},"modified":"2008-01-20T12:39:07","modified_gmt":"2008-01-20T19:39:07","slug":"logged-dive-106-observed-johns-ow-class","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=308","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #106 &#8211; Observed John&#8217;s OW Class"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran&#8217;s Park, Redondo Beach, CA<\/p>\n<p>Dove With Instructor John and his Basic Open Water class.<\/p>\n<p>In With: 1700 psi<br \/>\nOut With:  700 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 60 feet<br \/>\nWaves:  1-4 feet (Red Tide)<br \/>\nVisibility: 5 feet &#8211; shitty! &#8211;  It sucked because of Red Tide.<br \/>\nWater Temperature: 60 degrees or slightly colder<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: 26 minutes<\/p>\n<p>This is the second dive with Instructor John&#8217;s Basic Open Water class.<\/p>\n<p>The guy that turned back last dive did the same thing on this one.<\/p>\n<p>The guy that John rescued called it quits.<\/p>\n<p>So it was me, John and his two other students.<\/p>\n<p>The visibility was getting worse!<\/p>\n<p>John did the check out dive:<\/p>\n<p>The students cleared their masks, buddy breathed and did an emergency swimming ascent.<\/p>\n<p>I then followed them down the shelf a ways and then back up.<\/p>\n<p>The water seemed colder than last dive.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone made it back with no problems.<\/p>\n<p>I then took the SCUBA Rescue course &#8211; all surface work.<\/p>\n<p>When it was my turn to be the victim, I did such a great job at pretending to be unconscious, that people actually thought something was wrong when I was dragged ashore.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the course I was given my SCUBA Rescue Card!<\/p>\n<p>I feel so macho!<\/p>\n<p>John is a great teacher.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran&#8217;s Park, Redondo Beach, CA Dove With Instructor John and his Basic Open Water class.
