{"id":303,"date":"2005-01-15T20:16:12","date_gmt":"2005-01-16T03:16:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=303"},"modified":"2008-01-20T11:58:35","modified_gmt":"2008-01-20T18:58:35","slug":"logged-dive-101-at-long-point-with-the-sandeaters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=303","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #101 at Long Point With The Sandeaters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Long Point, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA<br \/>\n(aka Long Point)<\/p>\n<p>Dove off the Cove with Melvin P. and Andy from the Sandeaters.<\/p>\n<p>In With: 3000 psi<br \/>\nOut With: 1000 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 45 feet<br \/>\nWaves:  1-2, insignificant<br \/>\nVisibility: 10 feet<br \/>\nWater Temperature: Cold<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: 40 minutes<\/p>\n<p>After an hour surface interval, I decided to do a second dive.<\/p>\n<p>I have two tanks and I brought both.<\/p>\n<p>Melvin and Andy followed as I entered off the cove.<\/p>\n<p>They wanted to go East along the shallow side.<\/p>\n<p>I wanted to check on the lobster trap; so, I politely bailed on them.<\/p>\n<p>It took a while to find the damn trap;  I had to surface three times to find the &#8220;aligning&#8221; rocks.<\/p>\n<p>On the third descent, I was tired of re-equlizing;  I landed almost right on the trap.<\/p>\n<p>The trap was there and still closed, with no lobsters in them.<\/p>\n<p>The jars that were in there and full of fish meat were still in there, but the fish meat had turned to white mush.<\/p>\n<p>Oh well, I haven&#8217;t seen lobsters for a while.  <\/p>\n<p>Maybe that&#8217;s why there&#8217;s no commercial traps around here anymore.<\/p>\n<p>I took my time getting back on shore, but we had all agreed to meet back in 45 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>We all made it back in with no problems.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Long Point, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA (aka Long Point) Dove off the Cove with Melvin P. and Andy from the Sandeaters.
