{"id":299,"date":"2004-12-18T19:00:03","date_gmt":"2004-12-19T02:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=299"},"modified":"2008-01-19T23:40:38","modified_gmt":"2008-01-20T06:40:38","slug":"logged-dive-97-veterans-park-redondo-beach-ca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=299","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #97 Veteran&#8217;s Park, Redondo Beach, CA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran&#8217;s Park, Redondo Beach, CA<\/p>\n<p>Dove with Nick<\/p>\n<p>In With: 2900 psi<br \/>\nOut With: 1000 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 65 feet<br \/>\nWaves:  1-2 feet<br \/>\nVisibility: 15 feet<br \/>\nWater Temperature: 55 degrees at 60 feet<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: 35 minutes<\/p>\n<p>Nick picked me up around 7:30 AM and we headed for Leo Carrillo.  <\/p>\n<p>The waves looked relatively calm.<\/p>\n<p>We checked out Sequin Point at Leo Carrillo; the waves looked sort of rough.<\/p>\n<p>We went down to our traditional spot at Leo Carrillo and again, waves.<\/p>\n<p>There were plenty of surfers, but no divers.<\/p>\n<p>We left and headed back South to find a better spot.<\/p>\n<p>We checked a few spots heading South on PCH.<\/p>\n<p>We ended up at Veteran&#8217;s Park in Redondo Beach.<\/p>\n<p>Reports were that visibility was great; students were there as usual.<\/p>\n<p>I broke a fin strap going in;  Nick fixed it with a tie wrap.  <\/p>\n<p>Then, walking down a second time, Nick&#8217;s tank fell off; I adjusted mine.<\/p>\n<p>We didn&#8217;t make it to the water until about 11 AM.<\/p>\n<p>We went in and submerged to 60 feet; saw the octopus amongst the trash and small fish.  <\/p>\n<p>We followed it North and then back.<\/p>\n<p>We were dived bombed a few times by a seal.<\/p>\n<p>This was a typical Redondo day dive.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran&#8217;s Park, Redondo Beach, CA Dove with Nick In With: 2900 psi Out With: 1000 psi Max depth: 65 feet Waves: 1-2 feet Visibility: 15 feet Water Temperature: 55 degrees at 60 feet Total Bottom Time: 35 minutes Nick picked me up around 7:30 AM and we headed for Leo Carrillo.
