{"id":295,"date":"2004-11-27T18:42:36","date_gmt":"2004-11-28T01:42:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=295"},"modified":"2008-01-19T22:19:18","modified_gmt":"2008-01-20T05:19:18","slug":"logged-dive-94-old-marineland-hunting-with-john-h","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=295","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #94  Old Marineland, Hunting With John H."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Long Point, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA<br \/>\n(aka The Old Marineland)<\/p>\n<p>Diving With John H.<\/p>\n<p>In With: 2600 psi<br \/>\nOut With: 200 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 55 feet<br \/>\nWaves:  1-2 feet, pretty calm<br \/>\nVisibility: 20 feet in some places<br \/>\nWater Temperature: Getting cold<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: 45 minutes<\/p>\n<p>I took my time getting to Long Point; this was supposed to be a solo dive.<\/p>\n<p>Once I geared up, I had major problems with my rig free flowing.<\/p>\n<p>This has been happening about once every four F&#8217;ing dives!<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, as I finally pieced together a working rig from my other rigs, someone pulled up and said to me, &#8220;hey, I see you diving solo all over the place&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He must have geared up quickly; by the time I got down and entered from the point, he was right behind me.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m following you,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Realizing that I had only 2600 psi, I canceled plans to look for recently sunken boat and agreed to follow him.<\/p>\n<p>John H did a macho man belly flop off the Point with his spear gun.<\/p>\n<p>We debated on where to exit.<\/p>\n<p>Since he said he would teach me how to exit the Point, we decided to go West.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/133.jpg\" alt=\"John H off of \u2018the Point\u2019 at Long Point.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We explored the kelp and lobster holes.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/222.jpg\" alt=\"John H goes for a fish.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>John speared a few fish &#8211; a sheephead and a White Sea bass.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/319.jpg\" alt=\"Me, way the hell South West of \u2018The Point\u2019\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I went up first when I had 200 psi &#8211; John stayed under for about 10 additional minutes.<\/p>\n<p>We were way the hell out!<\/p>\n<p>A few hundred yards South West of &#8220;the Point.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>After a 20 minute surface swim against the current, we &#8220;surfed&#8221; onto The Point.<\/p>\n<p>John H&#8217;s girlfriend Mayna complimented the green color of my Duster.<\/p>\n<p>I think John remembers the car, not necessarily me.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/415.jpg\" alt=\"John H and Me with his catch of the day!\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The lobster John  caught was given to me.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll be anyone&#8217;s buddy if they give me lobster!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Long Point, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA (aka The Old Marineland) Diving With John H.
