{"id":294,"date":"2004-11-26T18:39:01","date_gmt":"2004-11-27T01:39:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=294"},"modified":"2008-01-19T22:04:39","modified_gmt":"2008-01-20T05:04:39","slug":"logged-dive-93-long-point-rpv-ca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=294","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #93  Long Point, RPV, CA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Long Point, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA<br \/>\n(aka The Old Marineland)<\/p>\n<p>Solo Diving<\/p>\n<p>In With: 2800 psi<br \/>\nOut With: 400 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 40 feet<br \/>\nWaves:  1-2 feet<br \/>\nVisibility: 20 feet but silty<br \/>\nWater Temperature: Sort of cold<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: 50 minutes<\/p>\n<p>I got into the water around 9:30 AM.<\/p>\n<p>No divers were around until two showed up and introduced themselves as &#8220;Ollie and Mark.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>They had to leave shortly afterwards for air.<\/p>\n<p>I went off the cove and followed <a href=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/index.php?p=293\">the last dive&#8217;s <\/a> instructions on how to get to the trap.<\/p>\n<p>The instructions are perfect!<\/p>\n<p>I swam out and aligned myself with the rock and indentation.<\/p>\n<p>I submerged to 30 feet and went the opposite of 140 degrees;  I ran right in to it!<\/p>\n<p>The sea urchins and peanut butter were picked clean&#8230; and no lobsters!<\/p>\n<p>Visibility started to get really silty.<\/p>\n<p>It was high tide, starting to get lower.<\/p>\n<p>I searched around for more lobster, or even just a lobster!<\/p>\n<p>I ended up going towards the shore almost running a ground on the other side of pigeon shit cave.<\/p>\n<p>I looked where I was &#8211; in 15 feet of water.<\/p>\n<p>I made it ashore with no problem.<\/p>\n<p>A father from Alaska was on the trail with his two sons who were there fishing.<\/p>\n<p>I gave his kids some fishing weights that I had found on the bottom; the father is interested in snorkeling.<\/p>\n<p>I think I&#8217;ve had enough of the lobster hunting thing for a few days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Long Point, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA (aka The Old Marineland) Solo Diving In With: 2800 psi Out With: 400 psi Max depth: 40 feet Waves: 1-2 feet Visibility: 20 feet but silty Water Temperature: Sort of cold Total Bottom Time: 50 minutes I got into the water around 9:30 AM.
