{"id":280,"date":"2004-10-03T22:16:32","date_gmt":"2004-10-04T05:16:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=280"},"modified":"2008-01-19T19:25:11","modified_gmt":"2008-01-20T02:25:11","slug":"logged-dive-81-night-dive-off-of-redondo-beach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=280","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #81 Night Dive Off Of Redondo Beach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Early morning &#8220;night&#8221; dive<br \/>\nVeteran&#8217;s Park<br \/>\nRedondo Beach, CA<\/p>\n<p>Dove with Instructor John and another student Ron T. as part of an Advanced diving class.<\/p>\n<p>In With: 2900 psi<br \/>\nOut With: 100 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 70 feet<br \/>\nWaves:  1-3 feet<br \/>\nVisibility: 15 feet plus<br \/>\nWater Temperature: Cold at 70 feet<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: 35 minutes<\/p>\n<p>We met at 5 AM to do a night dive.<\/p>\n<p>We entered about 6 AM off of a spot closer to the pier than I normally go; about 100 yards closer to the pier.<\/p>\n<p>We found a glow stick floating around; luckily there was no diver attached to it.<\/p>\n<p>We descended to 50 feet (it was suppose to be only 30!) and went South along the trench.  <\/p>\n<p>We accidentally hit 70 feet at least once.<\/p>\n<p>I saw the usual assortment of trash and an octopus in a bottle.<\/p>\n<p>We traveled well past the stairs, so when Ron hit 1500 psi we turned back.  <\/p>\n<p>They followed me since I &#8220;know every piece of trash down there.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>We went back up to 30 feet, but I couldn&#8217;t find the bucket of cement &#8211; the marker for the stairs;  had I gone a little further we would have hit it.<\/p>\n<p>By the time we got out it was sunrise.<\/p>\n<p>We ran into a large school of mackerel on exit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Early morning &#8220;night&#8221; dive Veteran&#8217;s Park Redondo Beach, CA Dove with Instructor John and another student Ron T. as part of an Advanced diving class.
