{"id":273,"date":"2004-09-04T12:31:53","date_gmt":"2004-09-04T19:31:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=273"},"modified":"2008-01-19T10:56:31","modified_gmt":"2008-01-19T17:56:31","slug":"logged-dive-74-redondo-beach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=273","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #74 Redondo Beach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran&#8217;s Park, Redondo Beach, CA<\/p>\n<p>Solo Diving<\/p>\n<p>In with: 3100 psi<br \/>\nOut with: 800 psi<br \/>\nMaximum depth: 82 feet<br \/>\nWaves: 4 feet<br \/>\nVisibility: 10-15 feet<br \/>\nWater temperature: Warm, cooler at 80 feet<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: 40 minutes or so.<\/p>\n<p>I entered the water around 9:15 AM.<\/p>\n<p>As usual, a lot of other divers were there.<\/p>\n<p>I dropped down to 25 feet and went West over the shelf.<\/p>\n<p>I almost ran in to another diver who was hovering at 60 feet &#8211; just practicing buoyancy, I guess.<\/p>\n<p>Coming out I saw an unusual number of Bat Rays, many more than on previous dives.<\/p>\n<p>At 50 feet, there were a lot of very small fish hanging around what looks like a budding reef or wanna-be kelp bed.<\/p>\n<p>I went down to 70 feet and started getting dizzy, so I went back up to 60 and felt better.<\/p>\n<p>After getting used to the depth, I proceeded to 82 feet.<\/p>\n<p>I went back and at 60 feet went North.  <\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s either not as dead as I thought, or the environment is coming back &#8212; slowly.<\/p>\n<p>There were a lot of fish down there.<\/p>\n<p>At 1000 psi, I headed in and surfaced when at 15 feet.  <\/p>\n<p>Coming out, I lost a fitting for one of my fins, but recovered it.<\/p>\n<p>The waves were four feet. but breaking close to shore.  <\/p>\n<p>I walked up, but almost fell.<\/p>\n<p>My nose was bleeding more than usual.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran&#8217;s Park, Redondo Beach, CA Solo Diving In with: 3100 psi Out with: 800 psi Maximum depth: 82 feet Waves: 4 feet Visibility: 10-15 feet Water temperature: Warm, cooler at 80 feet Total Bottom Time: 40 minutes or so.
