{"id":265,"date":"2004-07-25T20:47:16","date_gmt":"2004-07-26T03:47:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=265"},"modified":"2008-01-19T00:17:09","modified_gmt":"2008-01-19T07:17:09","slug":"logged-dive-66-long-point-rpv-ca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=265","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #66 &#8211; Long Point, RPV, CA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Long Point, CA<br \/>\n(aka The Old Marineland)<\/p>\n<p>Dove with Nick<\/p>\n<p>In with: 3000 psi<br \/>\nOut with: 1000 psi<br \/>\nMaximum Depth: 20 feet<br \/>\nVisibility: 20 feet<br \/>\nWater Temperature: Warm<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: 50 minutes<br \/>\nDove with: Nick<\/p>\n<p>I met Nick around 9:20 AM.<\/p>\n<p>The divers coming out were saying that visibility was good &#8211; about 20 feet.<\/p>\n<p>I made it in easy &#8211; I just walked in and put my fins on.<\/p>\n<p>We decided to try something different.  <\/p>\n<p>We went West, the opposite way that we usually go.<\/p>\n<p>There wasn&#8217;t much kelp, but lots of reefs, sea urchins, starfish, etc.  <\/p>\n<p>It sort of reminds me of parts of White Point.<\/p>\n<p>Neither of us were photographing or hunting.<\/p>\n<p>We swam South &#8211; just hovering over the reefs.  <\/p>\n<p>Sometimes I got so shallow, my tank surfaced.<\/p>\n<p>Nick pointed out a very small jellyfish &#8211; it looked tiny underwater, so it must have been really small.<\/p>\n<p>Nick got a short fill from some dive shop in Long Beach; he started with only 2700 psi.<\/p>\n<p>We turned around and went back almost the same way; we surfaced a few times to get our bearings.<\/p>\n<p>Nick went on shore ahead of me.<\/p>\n<p>I took my fins off first and started walking in.  <\/p>\n<p>There was a tremendous undercurrent which kept me still, then a moderate wave came in and knocked me over.  <\/p>\n<p>I crawled a little ways, stood up and walked in.  <\/p>\n<p>Other divers marveled at my experience.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Long Point, CA (aka The Old Marineland) Dove with Nick In with: 3000 psi Out with: 1000 psi Maximum Depth: 20 feet Visibility: 20 feet Water Temperature: Warm Total Bottom Time: 50 minutes Dove with: Nick I met Nick around 9:20 AM.
