{"id":260,"date":"2004-07-04T20:30:27","date_gmt":"2004-07-05T03:30:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=260"},"modified":"2008-01-18T19:53:46","modified_gmt":"2008-01-19T02:53:46","slug":"logged-dive-61-at-long-point-palos-verdes-ca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=260","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #61 at Long Point, Palos Verdes, CA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Long Point, CA<br \/>\n(aka The Old Marineland)<\/p>\n<p>Solo Diving<\/p>\n<p>In with: 2900 psi<br \/>\nOut with: 700 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 40 feet<br \/>\nWaves: 1-2 feet<br \/>\nVisibility: 15+ feet<br \/>\nWater Temperature: Warm<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: 45 minutes<br \/>\nNotable Event: I got caught on a fisherman&#8217;s line.<\/p>\n<p>This is my Independence Day dive.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the logistics of getting air for tomorrow, I decided to dive Redondo Beach.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, there was no parking.<\/p>\n<p>I got to Long Point about 10:30 AM; there was another dive club leaving.<\/p>\n<p>I probably got in to the water around 11:00 AM.<\/p>\n<p>Easy in.<\/p>\n<p>I was told by another diver that there&#8217;s a black sea bass the size of a person out there.<\/p>\n<p>I swam to the reef just East of the cove and then to the second kelp bed.<\/p>\n<p>I actually saw an octopus, another guitar fish and several large sheephead.<\/p>\n<p>When I was coming out, I got snagged on a fisherman&#8217;s line.<\/p>\n<p>I surfaced trying to free myself.<\/p>\n<p>I ended up cutting the line.<\/p>\n<p>I yelled over to him, &#8220;Sorry about that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He yelled back, &#8220;Don&#8217;t worry, just be safe.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A lot of fishermen would have given me the finger.<\/p>\n<p>It was so calm, I walked ashore.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Long Point, CA (aka The Old Marineland) Solo Diving In with: 2900 psi Out with: 700 psi Max depth: 40 feet Waves: 1-2 feet Visibility: 15+ feet Water Temperature: Warm Total Bottom Time: 45 minutes Notable Event: I got caught on a fisherman&#8217;s line.
