{"id":2407,"date":"2012-08-05T23:02:01","date_gmt":"2012-08-06T06:02:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=2407"},"modified":"2012-08-06T12:10:30","modified_gmt":"2012-08-06T19:10:30","slug":"getting-used-to-cold-water-diving-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=2407","title":{"rendered":"Getting Used To Cold Water Diving Again!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have been back in the United States for two weeks, still recovering from my epic trip to Albania.<\/p>\n<p>I am doing a final write up on my trip, but in the mean time, for those who are curious about my vacation, you can watch the video on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PL1D43B182E9274753&#038;feature=plcp\" target=\"_new\">my new YouTube Channel.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I arrived a half hour late from our usual meeting time of 8 AM;  I had to find my core warmer &#8211; something I did not bring to Albania with me.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, it was on my balcony, right where I left it a month ago.<\/p>\n<p>Jordon and two newer regulars, Bob and Dennis, showed up &#8211; that is it.<\/p>\n<p>No Reverend Al, no Nice Bob, no Chipper, no SCJoe&#8230;  since Airforce Chris left, attendance has been down, knowing that there will be a shortage of beer.<\/p>\n<p>All four of us entered off the Point.<\/p>\n<p>The first thing I thought was, &#8220;Holy crap, I forgot how cold the water is here!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Logged SCUBA Dive #420<\/p>\n<p>Dove with Jordan, Bob and Dennis<br \/>\nTerranea Resort<br \/>\nRancho Palos Verdes, CA USA<\/p>\n<p>In With: 2800 psi<br \/>\nOut With: 500 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 60 feet<br \/>\nWaves: Pretty flat with an occasional roller<br \/>\nVisibility: Up to 15 feet<br \/>\nWater Temperature: 56 degrees<br \/>\nAir Temperature: 72 degrees<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: 40 minutes or so<\/p>\n<p>We surface swam out and then descended &#8220;around where the pinnacle probably is.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img src='http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/dscf2894omlreef.jpg' alt='Weird centipede things' \/><\/p>\n<p>All over the place are these weird, transparent centipede like things. <\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know the name, but I have never seen them so abundant.<\/p>\n<p><img src='http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/dscf2870omklreef.jpg' alt='Reef At OML' \/><\/p>\n<p><img src='http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/dscf2871omlreefr.jpg' alt='Reef at OML' \/><\/p>\n<p><img src='http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/dscf2878omlreef.jpg' alt='Reef at OML' \/><\/p>\n<p>At 2000 psi, we headed to the cove.<\/p>\n<p><img src='http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/dscf2885omlreef.jpg' alt='Reef at OML' \/><\/p>\n<p><img src='http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/dscf2888omlreef.jpg' alt='Reef at OML' \/><\/p>\n<p>Is this an albino nudibrach?<\/p>\n<p>The plan was to stay deeper going back than usual; which made a more interesting dive than normal.<\/p>\n<p>The problem was, I ran low on air around the half way mark and had to surface swim back.<\/p>\n<p>I couldn&#8217;t take my fins off soon enough, and I ended up washing up on the rocky beach still trying to take the first one off.<\/p>\n<p>I am getting worse at exits.<\/p>\n<p><img src='http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/dscf2904omlreefsde.jpg' alt='Shish Kabobs for debriefing' \/><\/p>\n<p>Professional Debriefer Paul brought some shish kabobs and potato chips.<\/p>\n<p>It was a very small group today, but the diving was nice&#8230; and cold.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have been back in the United States for two weeks, still recovering from my epic trip to Albania.
