They introduced themselves as Dennis, Fred and Al. My friend Nick was also there; he wanted to watch me dive.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, someone came and unlocked the gates about 8:50 AM.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/dev\/wp-content\/p1010821.jpg\" title=\"Me Getting Ready\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/dev\/wp-content\/p1010821.jpg\" alt=\"Me Getting Ready\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe gates leading to the coast was locked. Luckily, I know the combination &#8212; 1948.<br \/>\n<a rel=\"attachment wp-att-26\" href=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?attachment_id=26\" title=\"Walking Down\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/dev\/wp-content\/p1010822.jpg\" alt=\"Walking Down\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The waves looked rough but manageable.<\/p>\n<p>I quickly got ready and walked down to the shore, Nick was in tow with his camera.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-29\" href=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?attachment_id=29\" title=\"Dawning My Fins\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/dev\/wp-content\/p1010828.jpg\" alt=\"Dawning My Fins\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-28\" href=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?attachment_id=28\" title=\"Going Out\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/dev\/wp-content\/p1010832.jpg\" alt=\"Going Out\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Perfect entry.<\/p>\n<p>There was a boat nearby, close to the rocks near the entrance to the cave.<\/p>\n<p>The visibility was 15 feet and soupy.<\/p>\n<p>The water was fairly cool.<\/p>\n<p>It was a typical Long point dive through the kelp beds.<\/p>\n<p>I believe I saw an octopus, or at least an octopus&#8217; eyeball sticking out of a hole on the bottom.<\/p>\n<p>I came back up twice (surfaced) to get a bearing on where I was.<\/p>\n<p>My final surfacing was close to where I had originally submerged.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-30\" href=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?attachment_id=30\" title=\"Coming In From SCUBA Diving\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/dev\/wp-content\/p1010869.jpg\" alt=\"Coming In From SCUBA Diving\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe waves were rather easy getting out.<\/p>\n<p>I rode two waves in, washing up on the rocks.<\/p>\n<p>Nick said that I &#8220;timed that perfectly.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/dev\/wp-content\/p1010872.jpg\" alt=\"Washing The Ocean Water Out Of My Mouth With Beer\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I washed the ocean water out of my mouth with a cool beer.<\/p>\n<p>Nick said some &#8220;gay divers&#8221; came down while I was in the water.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;How do you know they&#8217;re gay?&#8221; I asked.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Because they hit on me while you were gone,&#8221; Nick said.<\/p>\n<p>Nick is thinking about taking up diving. He put my jacket and tank on and held my weight belt.<\/p>\n<p>He said, &#8220;Dude, how do you even get up?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I replied, &#8220;You just have to be as macho as I am.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In with 3100 psi<br \/>\nOut with 500 psi<br \/>\nMax depth 40 feet<br \/>\nWaves 3-4 feet<br \/>\nWater temperature: cool almost cold<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Long Point, CA 8:30 AM (aka The Old Marineland) Solo Diving I got there around 8:30 AM; the gates leading to the parking lot were locked.
