Long Point, CA
\n(aka The Old Marineland)<\/p>\n

Solo Diving<\/p>\n

It’s suppose to rain tomorrow, so I dove today.<\/p>\n

If it doesn’t rain tomorrow, I’ll dive tomorrow.<\/p>\n

I got to Long Point about 8:30 AM.<\/p>\n

\"Salvage<\/p>\n

Two other would-be divers were asking me what the big boat with the containment buoys were doing.<\/p>\n

I found out later that they were containing fuel and oil from a fishing boat that sank — this was after I came back out.<\/p>\n

Waves in and out were about three and a half feet.<\/p>\n

It was two hours from high tide.<\/p>\n

I went in with 3200 psi, left with 500 psi.<\/p>\n

I took my camera hoping that it was going to be as clear as November 23rd — 30 feet visibility.<\/p>\n

Visibility was only 15 feet or so.<\/p>\n

Oh well, I tried 200 speed film instead of 400.<\/p>\n

The pictures came out much better.<\/p>\n

But hey, a $40 camera is just that… a $40 camera!<\/p>\n

I’m at 40 feet now.<\/p>\n

The water was cold; about 45-50 degrees F; I got used to it once submerged.<\/p>\n

A retarded looking diver; Okay, that’s a self portrait!<\/p>\n

I got tangled on kelp a few times but was able to pull myself free.<\/p>\n

Easy going back in, I mean coming back to shore.<\/p>\n

I met a few diving researchers that say they regularly monitor the temperature of the water off of Long Point.<\/p>\n

In with: 3200 psi
\nOut with: 500 psi
\nMax depth: 45 feet
\nWaves: 3 and a half feet
