{"id":222,"date":"2004-06-27T20:42:04","date_gmt":"2004-06-28T03:42:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=222"},"modified":"2008-01-13T15:57:07","modified_gmt":"2008-01-13T22:57:07","slug":"logged-dive-59-at-veterans-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=222","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #59 at Veteran&#8217;s Park"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran&#8217;s Park<br \/>\nRedondo Beach, CA<\/p>\n<p>Solo Diving<\/p>\n<p>Nick wasn&#8217;t interested in  diving today because of the visibility yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel M from Redondo Pier is getting his tank serviced but was willing to rent one.<\/p>\n<p>I had to work early and didn&#8217;t want to wait for Daniel.<\/p>\n<p>If I&#8217;m not going to see anything, I might as well go deep.<\/p>\n<p>I got in the water about 9:45 AM.<\/p>\n<p>Other divers were there, mostly students.<\/p>\n<p>I descended to 20 feet and started heading West.<\/p>\n<p>Visibility sort of sucked, but that was no surprise &#8211;  it was about 10 feet.<\/p>\n<p>I went over the shelf and kept swimming slowly to 85 feet.<\/p>\n<p>I turned and started going East.<\/p>\n<p>Coming up at 70 feet I found an &#8220;Alamo&#8221; baseball cap.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Alamo&#8221; as in &#8220;Remember the Alamo,&#8221; not the car rental place.<\/p>\n<p>I put the hat on and wore it all the way in.<\/p>\n<p>At 60 feet I swam North and then back again.<\/p>\n<p>I just took it slow.<\/p>\n<p>I saw a group of crabs, some starfish, small fish and trash.<\/p>\n<p>At 1200 psi I started to head in.<\/p>\n<p>At 10 feet I ascended.<\/p>\n<p>I was about 20 yards from shore, still wearing my baseball cap.<\/p>\n<p>The waves were 2-3 feet but broke close to shore.<\/p>\n<p>I took my fins off in the water and walked to shore.<\/p>\n<p>In with: 3100 psi<br \/>\nOut with: 1000 psi<br \/>\nMaximum depth: 85 feet<br \/>\nWaves: 2-3 feet<br \/>\nVisibility: 10 feet<br \/>\nWater Temperature: Pretty Cool<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: About 35 minutes<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Veteran&#8217;s Park Redondo Beach, CA Solo Diving Nick wasn&#8217;t interested in diving today because of the visibility yesterday.
