{"id":2193,"date":"2011-12-11T23:53:21","date_gmt":"2011-12-12T06:53:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=2193"},"modified":"2011-12-12T13:57:02","modified_gmt":"2011-12-12T20:57:02","slug":"second-dive-on-the-star-of-scotland-santa-monica-ca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=2193","title":{"rendered":"Second Dive on The Star Of Scotland, Santa Monica, CA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After an hour surface interval, we were back in the water again.<\/p>\n<p>Logged SCUBA Dive #397<\/p>\n<p>Dove with Joe R. and John J.<br \/>\nThe Star of Scotland, Santa Monica, CA<\/p>\n<p>In With: 3000 psi<br \/>\nOut With: 400 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 80 feet<br \/>\nWaves: Flat with some chop<br \/>\nVisibility: 15 feet<br \/>\nWater Temperature: 57 degrees<br \/>\nAir Temperature: 67 degrees<br \/>\nTotal Bottom Time: 23 minutes, including an extended safety stop<\/p>\n<p>We made our way to the bow &#8211; we saw a lobster antenna sticking out of a crack in the hull, so thick, it must have been from a bug the size of a large dog.<\/p>\n<p>We also had an encounter with a baby black sea bass, that was still pretty damn huge.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the dive was pretty uneventful.<\/p>\n<p>I motioned to Joe when I was down to 1000 psi &#8211; I was hoping he had a better idea where the anchor line was;  I did not want to do a drifting safety stop.<\/p>\n<p>He brought me back to the anchor line and I started the slow ascent to the surface.<\/p>\n<p>Joe and John decide to move the anchor &#8211; it was on the wreck, with the potential of getting stuck &#8211; so, they picked it up and moved it to the sand.<\/p>\n<p>For whatever reason, they stayed down too long and both had to do a mandatory decompression stop.<\/p>\n<p>If you ever want to screw with someone doing a mandatory deco stop, try dry humping him &#8211; I only heard about this second hand, and I won&#8217;t go into the details.<\/p>\n<p>All made it back alive and well, and my ears were fine.<\/p>\n<p>Joe tried to charge John for &#8220;Technical Dive Training&#8221; because of the deco stop, but was nice enough to eventually wave the fee.<\/p>\n<p>The food and beer helped make the trip back to Redondo Beach a very short one.<\/p>\n<p>Below is the movie I took.<\/p>\n<p>If you do not have 3D glasses, you can turn the 3D off.<\/p>\n<p>Vis was 15 feet, so the movie is a bit green.<\/p>\n<p>If anyone knows why there are flashes of vertical black lines on the movie, please let me know.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"400\" height=\"233\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DaI-gW-GjWE\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>To view the movie on YouTube, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=DaI-gW-GjWE\" target=\"_new\">click here.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After an hour surface interval, we were back in the water again.
