{"id":2141,"date":"2011-09-10T23:41:47","date_gmt":"2011-09-11T06:41:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=2141"},"modified":"2020-07-20T09:47:30","modified_gmt":"2020-07-20T16:47:30","slug":"financing-my-april-albanian-diving-trip-digging-for-gold-in-the-east-fork","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=2141","title":{"rendered":"Financing My April Albanian Diving Trip &#8211; Digging For Gold In The East Fork"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As my three readers may know, <a href=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=2050\"> my diving vacation has been chosen<\/a> and the destination is Albania.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/albaniantripprep.jpg\" alt=\"I received my passport last week, and have ordered an Essential Albanian course.\"><\/p>\n<p>I received my passport and my &#8220;Essential Albanian&#8221; course last week.<\/p>\n<p>Talk is cheap, and after all the talk that I&#8217;ve done, I will look like a real dick if I can&#8217;t make this happen, so I have decided to add to my revenue stream.<\/p>\n<p>Selling blood to go on lobsters boats is one thing, but I need a minimum of US $5,000 (Current value) for my Albania trip.<\/p>\n<p>With Gold at $1,800 an ounce and a volunteer who has never been prospecting, but &#8220;would like to try it,&#8221; I headed up to the East Fork of the San Gabriel River to find a few ounces.<\/p>\n<p>We hiked two miles up river, from the parking lot.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/helperbryantwvb.jpg\" alt=\"Brian With a T.\"><\/p>\n<p>Brian With A &#8220;T&#8221; is used to manual labor and would fit in perfectly with pulling Gold out of here.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/prospectingsetup8854.jpg\" alt=\"We set up the sluice around a few nice digging spots.\"><\/p>\n<p>We set up the sluice around a few nice digging spots.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/bingeeamericatrain89454.jpg\" alt=\"The Bungee America train.\"><\/p>\n<p>The Bungee America train passed by to the Bridge To Nowhere &#8211; I had flash backs from <a href=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=1890\"> when I went.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>So, this is how it should go &#8211; find a spot where the water slows, like behind a rock or in an eddy, dig, classify, run through a sluice, pan for Gold and sell the flour, dust, pickers and nuggets that you find.<\/p>\n<p>Well, that&#8217;s what the fucking infomercial told me, at least.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/laslooosa783.jpg\" alt=\"The sluice set up.\"><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/feedingsluice7778889k.jpg\" alt=\"I feed the sluice.\"><\/p>\n<p>Brian With A &#8220;T&#8221; dug, I classified and ran the sluice &#8211; mostly.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/panpanpan6788989667.jpg\" alt=\"I know how to pan.\"><\/p>\n<p>I know how to pan &#8211; I learned at Knott&#8217;s Berry Farm.<\/p>\n<p>We dug in four spots and actually found Gold &#8211; microscopic Gold; I mean, you needed the smallest tweezers to pick this crap out of the pan.<\/p>\n<p>Well, after five hours of back-breaking labor, we had not even accumulated enough flakes to pay for the gas up the mountain.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/wp-content\/burnedandpissed44454512009.jpg\" alt=\"Burned and pissed.\"><\/p>\n<p>After taking this picture, and noticing how fat I am, I think that if I just quit drinking I would be able to save enough money for the Albania trip.<\/p>\n<p>A few years ago, an old dieing, Japanese prospector told me the secret to cashing in on the East Fork, but I need to plan a three day, two night camping trip; that is in the works.<\/p>\n<p>My only other options are doing porno films part time, counting cards in Las Vegas or cage fighting.<\/p>\n<p>Stay tuned for my next attempt at financing my trip.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As my three readers may know, my diving vacation has been chosen and the destination is Albania.
