{"id":193,"date":"2004-05-16T20:09:30","date_gmt":"2004-05-17T03:09:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=193"},"modified":"2007-12-30T10:00:31","modified_gmt":"2007-12-30T17:00:31","slug":"logged-dive-46","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=193","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #46  White Point, San Pedro, CA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>White Point, San Pedro, CA<br \/>\nDove with Nick<\/p>\n<p>This is a new dive spot for me.<\/p>\n<p>I met Nick on the street and we took his truck down the steep driveway.<\/p>\n<p>It was about 9:30 AM.<\/p>\n<p>We entered the water through a cove that&#8217;s protected from the large waves.<\/p>\n<p>High tide was at 8:30 AM.<\/p>\n<p>The rocks were sharp and the walk was slightly tough.<\/p>\n<p>We swam to the first kelp bed and submerged.<\/p>\n<p>The environment looks a lot like Shaw&#8217;s Cove in Laguna Beach <a href=\"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=71\"> (See Dive #31) <\/a>, but there seems to be more life. <\/p>\n<p>There doesn&#8217;t seem to be a lot of &#8220;dead spots&#8221; like Long Point.<\/p>\n<p>There was always something to see &#8211; kelp, sea urchins and starfish.<\/p>\n<p>Somewhere around here are sulfur springs.<\/p>\n<p>The whole place sort of smells like sewage.<\/p>\n<p>We surfaced a couple of times to get our bearings.<\/p>\n<p>We lost the kelp bed first and the second time we came in further towards the shore than we thought.<\/p>\n<p>The hunting seems to be good here.<\/p>\n<p>Nick and I were purely observers.<\/p>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t hunt, he didn&#8217;t bring his camera.<\/p>\n<p>We were under water about 50 minutes total.<\/p>\n<p>Excellent dive, we will definitely be coming back.<\/p>\n<p>In with: 2,900 psi<br \/>\nOut with: 500 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 35 minutes<br \/>\nWaves: 1-3 feet\/choppy<br \/>\nVisibility: 20 feet\/a bit soupy<br \/>\nWater temperature: Cool. 60 degrees F, I guess<\/p>\n<p><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>White Point, San Pedro, CA Dove with Nick This is a new dive spot for me.
