{"id":192,"date":"2004-05-15T19:58:43","date_gmt":"2004-05-16T02:58:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=192"},"modified":"2007-12-30T09:53:17","modified_gmt":"2007-12-30T16:53:17","slug":"logged-dive-45","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=192","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #45 Long Point, RPV, CA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Long Point, CA<br \/>\n(aka The Old Marineland)<\/p>\n<p>Dove with Nick<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Diving conditions were horrible last weekend.<span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>I didn&#8217;t even go &#8212; well, I went to Long Point and Redondo Beach, but the waves were horrendous.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>It was the PV marathon, so the traffic sucked going to Long Point.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><\/span>Nick and Robert were suppose to show up.<span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><\/span>They didn&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>At <time minute=\"40\" hour=\"8\"><\/time>08:40 AM I entered the water and swam about 50 yards.<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><\/span>I saw Nick walking down &#8211; I mean the guy is almost seven feet tall, so I was thinking it had to have been Nick.<span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><\/span>He ran up after I told him I would wait.<\/p>\n<p>At about <time minute=\"10\" hour=\"9\"><\/time>09:10 AM we both went out to the second kelp bed.<\/p>\n<p>It was very choppy, but the swells were manageable.<\/p>\n<p>We swam to the second kelp bed and hunted.<span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><\/span><span><\/span>The visibility was better than I expected, 15 feet and clear.<\/p>\n<p>I entered up shooting one sheephead, and using a lot of air doing it.<\/p>\n<p>For some reason, there is a dead tree in the water.<\/p>\n<p>We exited on our traditional spot.<span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><\/span><span><\/span>The waves had calmed down while we were under;<span> i<\/span>t was high tide.<\/p>\n<p>In with: 2800 psi<br \/>\nOut with: 200 psi<br \/>\nMaximum depth: 40+ feet<br \/>\nWaves: 1-3 feet and choppy<br \/>\nVisibility: 15 feet and clear<br \/>\nWater temperature: Warmer than before<br \/>\nThe &#8220;Dive and Surf&#8221; club was diving there, too.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Long Point, CA (aka The Old Marineland) Dove with Nick Diving conditions were horrible last weekend.
