{"id":168,"date":"2004-04-23T16:24:51","date_gmt":"2004-04-23T23:24:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=168"},"modified":"2007-12-29T21:16:29","modified_gmt":"2007-12-30T04:16:29","slug":"logged-dive-40","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psychosolodiver.com\/?p=168","title":{"rendered":"Logged Dive #40 Long Point, CA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Long Point, CA<br \/>\n(aka The Old Marineland)<\/p>\n<p>Solo Diving<\/p>\n<p>I arrived at Long Point around 9:30 AM &#8212; I had just gotten off of work to start a four day weekend.<\/p>\n<p>I wanted to start earlier.<\/p>\n<p>I used my regulator set-up.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s very cheap compared to Ed&#8217;s &#8212; I just got it back from having the first stage repaired.<\/p>\n<p>The air was very hot and when I entered the water, so the water seemed very cold.<\/p>\n<p>Other divers, about six of them, had entered the water about 30 minutes before me.<\/p>\n<p>This was purely a sight seeing dive.<\/p>\n<p>I hung out around the far kelp bed; broke open several sea urchins and fed the fish.<\/p>\n<p>I saw a sheephead with part of its back ripped off.<\/p>\n<p>I believe it was a wound from a spear?<\/p>\n<p>I will definitely be careful not to spear shorts.<\/p>\n<p>At about 1000 psi I started heading directly West to go it.<\/p>\n<p>I surfaced too far West and over the rocks.<\/p>\n<p>Definitely not the place to be.<\/p>\n<p>I made it back to the same place place that I entered from.<\/p>\n<p>A Fish and Game Warden was there when I surfaced.<\/p>\n<p>In with: 2800 psi<br \/>\nOut with: 500 psi<br \/>\nMax depth: 38 feet<br \/>\nWaves: 2 feet<br \/>\nVisibility: 10-15 feet \/ clear<br \/>\nWater Temp: Cold<br \/>\nLow tide<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Long Point, CA (aka The Old Marineland) Solo Diving I arrived at Long Point around 9:30 AM &#8212; I had just gotten off of work to start a four day weekend.
