\n(aka The Old Marineland)<\/p>\n
Dove with Nick<\/p>\n
I met Nick at 8:15 AM.<\/p>\n
There were about nine other divers there.<\/p>\n
According to Nick, who had talked to them, they were a SCUBA instructors club.<\/p>\n
They convinced Nick that we should go off the point.<\/p>\n
\u00a0I brought my spear, Nick was a spectator.<\/p>\n
Going out I got tossed by the waves.<\/p>\n
The best place to go out on the point is between two rocks.<\/p>\n
The water fell, I landed between the crevice and was thrown back up when the next wave hit.<\/p>\n
Nick took his time getting in.<\/p>\n
Once out, we rested as the instructors went in.<\/p>\n
They were about 10 minutes behind us.<\/p>\n
Visibility was 10 feet and soupy — about the same as last week.<\/p>\n
I broke open a couple of sea urchins to chum the water; fish came to eat very quickly.<\/p>\n
The kelp bed off the point is the place to hunt.<\/p>\n
There were many fish, many intricate reefs.<\/p>\n
I shot a couple of big looking fish; but when I measured them they were not as big as I had hoped.<\/p>\n
I brought them in.<\/p>\n
We basically swam around in circles at the reef off the point.<\/p>\n
Nearing the end, we swam in underwater until Nick had 500 psi, then surfaced.<\/p>\n
We swam to the cove to exit.<\/p>\n
Entering the point is easy.<\/p>\n
Nobody (from what I’ve seen) exits the point.<\/p>\n
I banged my leg coming out.<\/p>\n
I shot two sheepheads on this dive.<\/p>\n
In with: 3100 psi
\nOut with: 400 psi
\nMax depth: 42 feet
\nWaves: 2-3 feet, high tide
\nWater Temp: 58 degrees +\/-
